FAQs
CAN I COME SEE MY DOG?
Yes! Owners are encouraged to partake in their dog’s progress and training. Just give Tim or Lauren a call to determine when and where training is taking place that day.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING WHEN DROPPING MY DOG OFF?
You will need a record of vaccinations being up to date which must include Bordatella. Also, you will be expected to bring half a month’s training fee at this time. You may bring some of your dog’s food if you like. Any medications or special instructions should also be provided. Leashes, dog beds, bowls, etc are not needed.
WHAT TYPE OF DOG FOOD DO YOU FEED? SHOULD I BRING MY OWN?
I feed Purina Pro Plan Performance Formula. If you want your dog to eat a different type of food you may provide enough for your dog’s stay.
WHAT TYPE OF ELECTRONIC COLLAR SHOULD I USE?
The brand you use is up to you. Tri-Tronics and Dogtra are two popular brands used by professional trainers. It is important that your collar can deliver both a continuous and a momentary stimulation.
SHOULD I TEACH MY DOG ANYTHING BEFORE BRINGING HIM IN FOR TRAINING?
Yes! As much as possible! Puppies should be well-socialized, introduced to birds and retrieving, and be working on obedience. Being comfortable in a crate, both at home and in a vehicle, is highly beneficial. The more your dog knows upon arrival the more it can learn during its training! The Bill Hillman puppy training DVD is very beneficial for training before 6 months of age.
DO YOU USE BIRDS IN TRAINING?
Pretty much every day!
